CARE 7112 is recommended for a broad range of hydrogenation reactions common to Palladium on carbon catalysts, such as nitro group reductions to amine, de-halogenation reaction, reductive amination to dimethyl amine with formaldehyde for API synthesis (Eschweiler-Clarke reaction). Also used for hydrogenolysis of benzyl ethers or esters and the removal of carbobenzyloxy protecting radicals from peptides or amino acids.
