CARE 7211 is recommended for a broad range of hydrogenation reactions common to Palladium on carbon catalysts, such as nitro group reductions to amine, de-halogenation reactions, reduction of an aldehyde to the corresponding alcohol. Also used for hydrogenolysis of benzyl ethers or esters and the removal of carbobenzyloxy protecting radicals from peptides or amino acids.
